February 1, 2000 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 225-00 January 28, 2000 GLOBELINES NET EXPRESS NOW AVAILABLE Globelines, GLOBE TELECOM's fixed telephone service, further expands its suite of features with Globelines Net Express. Globelines Net Express is an integration of GLOBE TELECOM's landline and Internet services, which makes Internet service and web-based e-mail to be readily available to Globelines subscribers. This new service allows Globelines subscribers to surf the Net and send/receive e-mail messages without subscribing to any Internet service provider. This means that Globelines subscribers can now have two services in only one line. Accessing the Internet can be done by simply connecting the Globelines phone line to a modem and PC and dialing Globelines Net Express access number: 908-0000. To avail of this new service, Globelines subscribers only have to visit any GLOBE TELECOM Business Center near their area to request for free activation. Globelines Net Express has no fixed monthly fee; billing is per usage only. Usage cost is P0.50 per minute. This means big savings for subscribers as they will not have to pay fixed Internet service subscription fees. Another convenience is that Globelines subscribers will receive only one bill because Globelines Net Express usage fees will be reflected in their monthly Globelines billing statement. Globelines Net Express is available to Globelines' business and residential subscribers initially in GLOBE TELECOM's service areas in the National Capital Region (NCR). These areas include Makati, Mandaluyong, Pasig, San Juan and Marikina. The service will soon be available in the Company's other service areas in Region IV and Region XII. Globelines uses state-of-the-art, fully-digital technology to provide residences and business access to advanced telephone functions and features. With the spending, GLOBE TELECOM will have significantly expanded capacity that can accommodate many more subscribers than even the company anticipates. The Company's large lead as the biggest digital network in the Philippines will continue. The Company plans to expand total cell sites from the current 690 to 1,112, and the number of switches from 6 to 17. GLOBE TELECOM intends to purchase various computer platforms to serve additional value added services for the benefit of its subscribers.
