September 3, 1999 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 2211-99 SUBJECT : Belle Corporation This is with reference to a news article published in the September 2, 1999 issue of the Philippine Daily Inquirer which reported that an agreement in principle was reached for the group of stockbroker Benito Tan Guat and Willy Ocier to sell enough Belle Corporation ("BEL") shares for Roberto Ongpin to boost his holdings from 20% to at least 51%. BEL, in a letter to the Exchange, clarified that: ". . . Please note that the reported matter in the article involves shareholders of Belle.
