September 17, 1998 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 2174-98 SUBJECT : Far East Bank and Trust Company Additional Listing The Exchange approved on April 24, 1996 the 1:4 Pre-emptive Rights Offering of FAR EAST BANK AND TRUST COMPANY (the "Company") to offer 9,000,000 common shares, with a par value of P100.00 per share, at an offer price of P568.00 per share to stockholders of record as of May 15, 1996. The first tranche of the offering, consisting of 2,249,619 common shares, was listed on July 25, 1996 per Circular No. 274 dated July 19, 1996. In Company Notice No. 1388 dated September 5, 1996, the par value was changed from P100.00 to P10.00 per share as approved by the SEC. The second tranche of the offering, consisting of 22,495,790 common shares, was listed on March 19, 1997 per Listing Circular No. 68 dated March 11, 1997. Finally, the third tranche of the offering, consisting of 22,495,490 common shares, was listed on September 30, 1997 per Listing Circular No. 185 dated September 22, 1997. llcd In view of these events, the Exchange is now listing and additional 20,752,840 common shares with a par value of P10 . 00 per share , to cover the fully paid portion of the fourth tranche of the 1 : 4 Pre-emptive Rights Offering to stockholders of record as of May 15, 1996 at an adjusted offer price of P40 . 00 per share . The unpaid portion of the fourth tranche shares, equivalent to 1,759,690 common shares , will be sold at a public auction, duly approved by the Company's Board of Directors on August 24, 1998, on October 6, 1998 or any date not later than November 22, 1998 that the Company's Management may deem appropriate at 3:00 p.m. at the 28th Floor, Far East Bank Center, Sen.
