Grace de Guia Disclosure Department Ladies and Gentlemen : This is in response to your letter of even date seeking clarification regarding the newspaper article entitled "PLDT to hike provision for bad accounts" that appeared in today's issue of Manila Times. LibLex We confirm that the Company will make provisions against receivable in its 1998 financial statements. As noted in the article, these provisions are likely to be higher than in previous years. The actual level of provisions will be determined during the course of the usual year-end audit which is ongoing.
