August 25, 1999 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 2118-99 Uniwide Holdings, Inc. ("UW") clarified to the Exchange a news article entitled "SEC extends Uniwide debt suspension order to Oct. 10" published in the August 25, 1999 issue of Business World. The article reported that the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) ordered yesterday a 60-day extension of the debt moratorium for Uniwide Group of Companies from August 11, 1999 until October 10, 1999. UW, in a letter to the Exchange, stated that: ". . . We confirm that the Receivership Committee appointed by the SEC has written the commission requesting that the debt suspension period previously granted be extended to October 10, 1999. . .
