September 4, 1998 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 2062-98 SUBJECT : Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company Further to Circular No. 2053-98 dated September 3, 1998 pertaining to Shareholder Rights Plan ("SRP") of Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company ("TEL"), please be informed that pursuant to the rules of the Exchange, terms and conditions of the SRP must be submitted to and approved by the Exchange. The record date for SRP shall be set by the Exchange following the approval of the same. The record date earlier set by TEL should be disregarded. For your information. (SGD.) REYNOLD P.
