September 3, 1998 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 2049-98 September 2, 1998 Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. 4/F, Philippine Stock Exchange Centre Exchange Road, Ortigas Center Pasig City Mesdammes : In reply to your letter dated September 2, 1998 requesting for a written confirmation/clarification of the news article captioned "Villar, richest solon, is P3.6B richer" published in the September 2, 1998 issue of the Philippine Star, whereby it was alleged that Ayala Land, Inc. formalized yesterday its acquisition of a 38.4% stake in C&P Homes, Inc., please be advised that there is no truth to the information contained in the said news article.
