Philippine Stock Exchange Center Pasig City Dear Ms. De Guia, This is with reference to the article "Landbank starts closure of Uniwide assets in Iloilo" (Aug. 13, 1999; Business World) which reported: 1. "That Landbank has started foreclosing the properties of Uniwide in Jaro, IloIlo" We have not received any formal notice of the foreclosure. We shall be advising the Exchange as soon as we are able to confirm the news article. cdt 2. "That El Shaddai acquired 53% of Uniwide" We are not aware of any negotiations relating to this article. As we have previously disclosed, there are certain discussions currently held with potential investors. However, all of these are merely in the exploratory stage.
