August 14, 1998 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 1898-98 PRESS RELEASE METRO PACIFIC APPOINTS GROUP VICE PRESIDENT FOR CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS AND INVESTOR RELATIONS Metro Pacific Corporation ("Metro Pacific") announced today that it had appointed Ms. Corazon Guidote as Group Vice President for Corporate Communications and Investor Relations with effect from 17 August 1998. Ms. Guidote has had extensive experience working in the Manila and HongKong offices of international investment houses at senior levels and, most recently, was the Vice President for Philippine Equities of Union Bank of Switzerland. She has been involved in various aspects of investment and securities operations, particularly in the areas of marketing, research, and corporate analysis. Ms. Guidote will assume responsibility for corporate communications at Metro Pacific, including investor and media relations, corporate giving and internal communications.
