Buenaventura Supervisor, Disclosure Department Philippine Stock Exchange 4th Floor, Philippine Stock Exchange Centre Exchange Road Ortigas Center Pasig City Dear Ms. Buenaventura METRO PACIFIC CORPORATION ("MPC") We refer to your facsimile of yesterday requesting comments on the article featured in the Philippine Daily Inquirer entitled "Sultan eyes debt-equity swap deal". cdlex The article relates to discussions that are purported to have taken place between the Philippine government and the Sultan of Brunei in respect of certain obligations of the government. The article further indicates that the Philippine government has considered the possibility of settling the obligations using certain shares of Fort Bonifacio Development Corporation ("FBDC") held by Bases Conversion and Development Authority. On the basis of the information in the article, this matter appears to relate to the Philippine government's private discussions with third parties. As a consequence, MPC and FBDC are not aware and are not in direct negotiation with the Sultan of Brunei regarding an investment in the Fort Bonifacio Global City. MPC and FBDC, however, would welcome any possible interest and investment that the Sultan of Brunei may make as this would further reinforce the growth of foreign interest in the Global City development.
