January 29, 1999 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 174-99 SUBJECT : Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company With reference to a news article published in the January 29, 1999 issue of the Manila Standard which reported that Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company's ("MBT") income dropped by 14 to 20 percent with an estimated income of between P4 billion and P4.5 billion last year from P5.25 billion in 1997, the company explained that: ". . . Our final income is not yet available. The number mentioned in the article in Manila Standard is an estimate based on our budget.
