July 17, 1998 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 1657-98 SUBJECT : Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation In connection with Benguet Corporation's ("BC") sale of its shareholdings in Petrofields Corporation ("PET") to Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation ("RCB"), equivalent to 20.29% of PET including its option to purchase additional 64 million shares at a par value of P1.00 per share, RCB clarified to the Exchange, in a letter dated July 16, 1998, that said purchase of PET shares was undertaken not for its own account, but as trustee for various trust accounts.
