July 16, 1998 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 1642-98 July 15, 1998 PHILIPPINE STOCK EXCHANGE PSE CENTER, EXCHANGE ROAD ORTIGAS CENTER, PASIG This is in reply to your FAX message received by our office on July 15 1998 at 2:05 PM asking us to make an official, full and accurate disclosure on the news item attributing the following statements to have been made by our Executive Vice President Mr. Robert G. Eduardo: 1. That "the joint venture may prompt the company to dilute present holdings to accommodate the foreign partner;" 2. The talks of former San Miguel Corporation Chairman Andres Soriano III's interest in buying out the remaining SMC shares in LTD. Please be advised that Mr. Robert G.
