July 2, 1999 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 1601-99 PLDT NEWS PLDT announced the inauguration of its new electronic digital telephone exchange in Paraaque City, July 1. The exchange, located along Quirino Avenue near corner MIA Road, Tambo will serve the areas bounded by EDSA, Manila Bay, Don Galo River, NAIA fence and the South Super Highway according to PLDT executive vice president Antonio R. Samson. The exchange has an initial capacity of 37,000 lines and an ultimate capacity of 53,000 lines. "Tambo exchange will provide PLDT subscribers in the area with the latest in telecommunications services such as call waiting, call forwarding, international and national direct distance dialling, three party conference, abbreviated dialling, hotline, barring of outgoing calls, data transmission services, fax and access to the internet," said Samson. Aside from the regular installation of telephone service Tambo exchange has also earmarked 3,500 lines for its Quick Install program which will be implemented in selected barangays in the area during Fridays and Saturdays up to August 31, 1999.
