June 26, 1998 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 1449-98 SUBJECT : South China Petroleum and Exploration, Inc . South China Petroleum and Exploration, Inc. ("SOC") informed the Exchange, in a letter dated June 24, 1998, that the Securities and Exchange Commission approved on June 23, 1998 the company's Amended Articles of Incorporation, particularly the amendment to Article I, reflecting the change of its corporate name from South China Petroleum and Exploration, Inc. to South China Resources, Inc . The effectivity date for the change in SOC's corporate name, using the same stock trading symbol, will be reflected on the Exchange's computer system (electronic board and ticker) on Wednesday, July 1, 1998 .
