June 18, 1998 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 1371-98 Date : June 18, 1998 SUBJECT : PHILIPPINE COMMERCIAL INTERNATIONAL BANK Philippine Commercial International Bank ("PCI") clarified to the Exchange, in a letter dated June 18, 1998, a news article published in the June 17, 1998 issue of the Philippine Daily Inquirer which reported of the planned sale of Mr. William Gatchalian's 15% stake in PCI to a foreign group. PCI in said letter explained that: ". . . we have not been informed by Mr. William Gatchalian of the reported 'planned sale of Gatchalian's . . . stake in PCIBank to a foreign group'. We shall make an 'official, full, fair and accurate written disclosure' on the matter upon receipt of authoritative advice from the affected stockholders on the reported 'sale of Gatchalian's . . . stake in PCIBank to a foreign group' within the period prescribed by the Exchange for the purpose."
