June 10, 1999 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 1368-99 SUBJECT : China Banking Corporation China Banking Corporation ("CHIB") clarified to the Exchange a news article entitled "RCBC, Banco de Oro courting China Bank" published in the June 10, 1999 issue of the Phil. Daily Inquirer. The article reported that Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. and Banco de Oro Universal Bank are courting CHIB for a buy-out of even a three-way marriage. Cdphil In its letter, CHIB stated that: ". . . There is no formal talks or negotiations ongoing with RCBC or Banco de Oro at present on the subject of a possible merger with either one or both institutions.
