June 18, 1998 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 1346-98 CADP CONSULTANCY BAGS NEW PROJECTS IN INDONESIA AND VIETNAM CADP Consultancy Services, Inc., (CADP-CSI) a subsidiary of publicly listed sugar refiner Central Azucarera Don Pedro (CADP), recently announced the signing of a consultancy contract with Marubeni Corporation of Japan for the factory commissioning of PT Indolampung Perkasa Sugar Project in Lampung, South Sumatra, Indonesia. Nine experts in different areas of raw sugar processing and refining from CADP's sugar mill and refinery in Nasugbu, Batangas has been dispatched to Indonesia to supervise the start-up of operations of the 8,000 TCD expandable to 10,000 TCD refined sugar plant. The Company also recently concluded a training program for visiting Vietnamese team from the Lam Son Sugar Company located in the Tho Xuan District of Thanh Hoa Province in Vietnam. A total of 42 Lam Son management and supervisory staff underwent extensive training at CADP's Nasugbu complex using the German Dual Training System wherein participants attend classroom-type seminars and workshops as well as receive hands-on training at the factory floor. The three-week course was composed of Cane and Field Operation, Raw Sugar and Refinery Operation, product Quality Control, Plant Maintenance, Environmental Protection Program and Human Resource Management & Services. In the Philippines, CADP-CSI has an on-going consultancy agreement with Crystal Sugar in Bukidnon province to develop and install various computerized systems for sugar production and factory administration. To date, the Company has completed five other contracts which includes basic engineering and design for a sugar refinery for Hitachi-Zosen and training of personnel and factory commissioning for the Vietnam-Taiwan Sugar Company.
