June 7, 1999 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 1343-99 SUBJECT : Philippine National Bank Philippine National Bank ("PNB") clarified to the Exchange a news article entitled "Deferred stock offering can be costly for PNB" published in the June 4, 1999 issue of Business World. The article reported that PNB was not expecting its P8-billion stock rights offer to push through until early next year. In its letter dated June 4, 1999, PNB advised that: ". . . the Philippine National Bank (the "Bank') plans to pursue the stock rights offering in accordance with its original timetable approved by its Board of Directors, which is to conduct the rights offering by the 2nd half of 1999, subject to the approval by the Philippine Stock Exchange. aisadc The Bank is unaware of the "source" of the writer of the article and the basis of such comment. . ."
