June 7, 1999 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 1327-99 PRESS RELEASE RE : Globe Telecom In response to the complaint of Globe cellular subscribers PLDT in cooperation with Globe, came out with remedial measures to improve Globe's cellular completion rate to PLDT. "While we are trying to find out what caused the original computer software problem, we have already advised Globe Telecom to reroute call traffic to interconnect trunks for local service. As of last night, this measure has already reflected improved access to PLDT from Globe's cellular subscribers," PLDT executive vice president Antonio R. Samson said. aisadc Additional interconnect trunks for local services to accommodate calls from Glove subscribers are also being activated by PLDT which have resulted in a considerable improvement in the call completion rate, he said. The completion problem was only confined to Globe's cellular phone users and did not affect its landline calls to PLDT which proceeded normally. Samson stated that PLDT has always been responsible to interconnection problems of Globe and its other interconnecting companies. For further inquiries, please contact: Mr. Antonio R. Samson Tel.
