January 20, 2000 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 124-00 METROBANK NOW PART OF PLDT @CTIVE BILL BANKS METROBANK TO GO ON-LINE PLDT @CTIVE BILL WEBSITE FOR EFFICIENT E-PAYMENT MODULE. Internet Banking is now becoming the most innovative system to fastrack important transaction in the market today. Having a technological edge gives definite assurance of a breathing room for a company in a highly competitive market. Synonymous to this, the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT), the country's leading telecommunication provider and Metrobank have agreed to develop and establish a secured electronic-based payment module linked to PLDT's internet based @ctive Bill website. Developing new fanged technology, PLDT gives its customers utmost convenience to do transactions over the net. LexLib The collaboration of one of the leading banks permits common corporate clients of Metrobank and PLDT to have fast and accessible banking through PLDT @ctive Banking. These will enable corporate depositors of Metrobank to go on-line in PLDT's @ctive Bill Website to view their statement of accounts and through a hyperlink protocol, update their payments. The PLDT @ctive Bill Payment module is expected to improve PLDT's customer service, reduce the time and costs associated with PLDT's billing and payment process, and improve PLDT's sales-to-cash cycle time. The Memorandum of Understanding was jointly signed by Manny Pangilinan, PLDT President and CEO, and Metrobank President Antonio Abacan, Jr.
