May 27, 1999 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 1222-99 SUBJECT : Benpres Holdings Corporation Benpres Holdings Corporation ("BPC") replied to the Exchange's inquiry pertaining to the letter of Alampay Gatchalian Mawis & Alampay, counsel for Marcial O.T. Balgos, to Philippine Commercial International Bank ("PCI") regarding the SEC Case No. 03-99-6235, filed by Marcial O.T. Balgos against Eugenio Lopez, et.al. for damages in the sum of P8 million in connection with the sale of the shares of Benpres Holdings Corporation (Eugenio Lopez, et. al) in PCI to Equitable Banking Corporation. prLL BPC clarified that: ". . . Benpres Holdings Corporation is not involved in this particular case. SEC Case No. 03-99-6235 is a claim of Mr. Marcial O.T. Balgos against certain individuals." For your information. (SGD.)
