May 28, 1998 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 1159-98 SUBJECT : Manila Electric Company Further to Circular No. 847-98 dated April 28, 1998, Manila Electric Company ("MER") furnished the Exchange on May 26, 1998 a copy of SEC Form 34-C (Definitive Information Statement) in connection with its Annual Stockholders' Meeting which will be held on June 23, 1998 , at 9:00 a.m., at the Meralco Theater, Lopez Building, Ortigas Avenue, Pasig City. As previously announced, stockholders of record as of April 22, 1998 are entitled to notice of, and to vote at, said meeting.
