May 22, 1998 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 1132-98 Philippine Stock Exchange Philippine Stock Exchange Center, Exchange Road Ortigas Center, Pasig City We confirm that the warehouse club located in Marcos Highway, Cainta, Rizal owned by our subsidiary. Uniwide Sales Realty and Resources Corporation (USRRC) was gutted by fire last May 21, 1998 at around 1:00 am. The said store was being operated by Uniwide Sales Warehouse Club, Inc. (USWCI). Unfortunately, the store has been hit by that unforeseen fire incident which has burned down the whole store structure and its existing stocks. We are still awaiting results of investigations being conducted as to the probable cause of the fire. As of this time, we have yet also to establish the amount of the estimated loss.
