May 18, 1998 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 1055-98 SUBJECT : San Miguel Corporation San Miguel Corporation ("SMC") clarified to the Exchange, in a letter dated May 15, 1998, a news article published in the May 14, 1998 issue of the Business World, which reported that foreign firms, including Anheuser-Busch Co., Inc., have expressed interest in buying the 27% sequestered bloc of SMC. SMC in said letter explained that: ". . . we have no knowledge of the reported interest of several companies in the 27% sequestered bloc of shares of San Miguel Corporation and cannot, therefore, confirm the same."
