Grace de Guia Listing and Disclosure Group Ladies and Gentlemen : We refer to your fax letter which we received at 9:28 a.m. today, requesting us to clarify the news article captioned "Piltel's creditors seek firm letter of support from PLDT", published in the May 10, 1999 issue of the Philippine Daily Inquirer. We reiterate that Pilipino Telephone Corporation ("Piltel") continues to be in discussions with its creditor banks on a mutually acceptable rehabilitation plan. However, no specific plan has yet been approved which would require a formal announcement. Rest assured that we will keep the Exchange informed of any significant development regarding this matter.
