Maria Isabel Garcia Head, Listing Department Gentlemen : This refers to the newspaper reports (Philippine Daily Inquirer and Business World, 9 February 1998) that the management of San Miguel Corporation (SMC) will propose to the SMC Board a plan to remove the "A" and "B" classification of SMC shares. The possibility of declassifying SMC shares has been reviewed periodically, especially since the SEC policy is to encourage publicly listed companies to have only one class of shares.
