Hong Vice President, Listings & Disclosure Group Ladies and Gentlemen : In compliance with the disclosure requirements of the Philippine Stock Exchange, we advise that Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company ("PLDT" or the "Company") has been informed that its subsidiary, Pilipino Telephone Corporation ("Piltel"), is currently actively pursuing discussions with its creditors to resolve its outstanding debt obligations, some of which have become due. The Management of PLDT affirms that the recent developments in Piltel will not in any way affect the Company's ability to comply with its own financial obligations nor its ability to service its customers and clients.
