Grace B . de Guia Disclosure Department Gentlemen : With reference to your fax dated January 5, 1999 requesting for our clarification/confirmation of a market rumor about the entry of Mr. Roberto Ongpin to the Company's Board of directors, please be advised that Mr. Ongpin is not included in the Management's slate for election to the board of directors under the Amended Information Statement (SEC Form 34-C) dated December 17, 1999.
