January 5, 1999 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 006-99 JOLLIBEE TOPS F.E.E.R. SURVEY Jollibee Foods Corporation has been rated as the Philippines' leading company for 1998 in an annual survey called the Review 200 of Asia's top corporations conducted by the Far Eastern Economic Review . Jollibee a publicly-listed corporation emerged number 1 for 1998 after being runner-up for four years in a row in the annual Review 200 list. With this score, it ranked as the sixth leading corporation in the survey and the only Philippine corporation in the top 10. cdt The prestigious magazine cited the Company for its success in establishing "the country's largest restaurant chain, trouncing even name-brand American fast-food companies." It added that Jollibee has catered its products to the Filipinos' taste preference and focused on the lower and middle-class market and its core business, while keeping its debt-load low. Jollibee rated highest in the 1998 edition of the Review 200 in the aspects of being "innovative in responding to customer needs" and as a "company that others try to emulate." It improved on the previous year's ranking as it scored second in long-term vision and in quality services/products attributes. The company has been earning recognition both here and abroad. Last year, it won honors as Asia's most admired retail/consumer company and the Philippines' top company in the Asian Business magazine's annual survey. It has also been cited in numerous international publications, including the Asia Inc ., and has been included among the world's best performing small corporations in Forbes . Last year, it placed a strong second behind "blue-blooded property and banking group, Ayala Corporation" and trailed food and beverage giant San Miguel Corporation the previous years in the FEER Review 200 list.
