February 19, 1971 PROCLAMATION NO. 816 DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM MARCH 29 TO APRIL 4, 1971, AS TAX CONSCIOUSNESS WEEK" WHEREAS, it is the civic obligation and patriotic duty of every citizen to pay his just taxes promptly; and aDATHC WHEREAS, there is need of instilling among our citizenry greater consciousness of their obligation and underscoring the taxpayer's role in economic progress and nation-building; NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from March 29 to April 4, 1971, as "Tax Consciousness Week" under the auspices of the Department of Finance. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed. DONE in the City of Manila, this 19th day of February, in the year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Seventy-One.
