March 29, 1985 PROCLAMATION NO. 2410 AUTHORIZING THE FEDERATION OF FILIPINO-CHINESE CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY, INC. TO CONDUCT A SERIES OF FUND CAMPAIGN FROM APRIL 1, 1985 TO MARCH 31, 1986 FOR ITS "OPERATION BARRIO SCHOOLS" PROJECT AND EXEMPTING ALL CONTRIBUTIONS AND DONATIONS FROM ALL FORMS OF TAXES WHEREAS, since 1961, the Federation has launched "Operation Barrio Schools", a long-range project designed to provide school houses for the accommodation of children of school age in barrios throughout the country and as a matter of fact has to date already donated around 700 school houses to needy barrios scattered all over the Philippines; WHEREAS, to finance the above-named project, the Federation relies heavily on the continued support of the rank and file of its membership, its friends, and supporters; WHEREAS, although a private organization, the Federation has undertaken and continues to undertake projects and activities of a public character and therefore deserves the unqualified support of all as well as the encouragement of the Government; WHEREAS, as an incentive to those who contribute and donate to the Federation's "Operation Barrio Schools" project, it may be advisable to exempt such contributions and donations from all forms of taxes and to consider them as allowable deductions for income tax purposes; NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. to conduct a series of fund campaign from April 1, 1985 to March 31, 1986 among its members and the public to finance its "Operation Barrio Schools". I hereby enjoin all citizens and residents of this country to give generously of their means to enable the Federation to succeed in the successful implementation of this laudable and worthy project. All funds generated by virtue of this proclamation and all donations and contributions to the Federation for this purpose shall be exempted from all forms of taxes and shall constitute allowable deductions in full for income tax purposes. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed hereto. DONE in the City of Manila, this 29th day of March, in the year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Five.
