October 31, 1980 PROCLAMATION NO. 2026 DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM NOVEMBER 9 TO 15, 1980, AS INTERNATIONAL TOBACCO WEEK IN THE PHILIPPINES WHEREAS, Letter of Instructions 1029 authorizes the holding of the 7th International Tobacco Scientific Congress and 13th General Assembly of the Cooperation Center for Scientific Research Relative to Tobacco (CORESTA) scheduled on November 9 to 14, 1980; cdt WHEREAS, this Congress focuses on the latest developments in tobacco culture and manufacture that are of much concern to peoples all over the world; and WHEREAS, the government attaches considerable significance to the outcome of the discussions, particularly on the matter of developing appropriate technologies for more healthful smoking; NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from November 9 to 15, 1980, as International Tobacco Week in the Philippines. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
