Period for Fund Campaign of the Kawal Award Foundation

February 26, 1977 PROCLAMATION NO. 1621 AUTHORIZING THE KAWAL AWARD FOUNDATION TO CONDUCT A FUND CAMPAIGN DURING THE PERIOD FROM FEBRUARY 16 TO JUNE 30, 1977 WHEREAS, the Kawal Award Project is born of a need to give public recognition and acknowledgment of the worthy role played by the soldiers in the building of the New Society; WHEREAS, the Project, through the Kawal Award Foundation, further aims to help the soldiers alleviate the high cost of education through scholarship grants to deserving members of the family of the Awardees; WHEREAS, to undertake such task and continuously fulfill its commitments, an educational trust fund should be provided for the purpose; and WHEREAS, these selfless efforts and commendable initiative deserve the moral and material support of both the government and the private sector; NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Kawal Award Foundation to conduct a fund campaign from February 16 to June 30, 1977. I urge all citizens and residents of the Philippines to give generously to the Project to enable it to realize its objectives.
