June 22, 1976 PROCLAMATION NO. 1554 DECLARING THURSDAY, JULY 1, 1976, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN SOUTHERN LEYTE WHEREAS, Thursday, July 1, 1976, marks the foundation anniversary of the province of Southern Leyte; WHEREAS, the people of Southern Leyte desire to celebrate this milestone in the history of their province; NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare July 1, 1976, as a special public holiday in Southern Leyte. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed. DONE in the City of Manila, this 22nd day of June, in the year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Seventy-Six.
