Authorizing the Philippine Sports Association of the Differently Abled, Inc. to Conduct a Fund Raising Campaign for a Period of One (1) Year

July 17, 1999 PROCLAMATION NO. 146 AUTHORIZING THE PHILIPPINE SPORTS ASSOCIATION OF THE DIFFERENTLY ABLED, INC. TO CONDUCT A FUND RAISING CAMPAIGN FOR A PERIOD OF ONE (1) YEAR WHEREAS, Proclamation No. 125, s. of 1993, was issued for the Nationwide Observance in the Philippines of the Asian and Pacific Decade of Disabled Persons from 1993-2002 and to heighten awareness and support for programs and projects benefiting persons with disabilities (PWDs); WHEREAS, the government is committed to promote the physical well-being, self-sufficiency and empowerment of PWDs, through the implementation of programs and projects, such as education, livelihood, and rehabilitation, and sports, among others; WHEREAS, the Philippine Sports Association of the Differently Abled, Inc. (PHILSPADA), a non-stock, non-profit organization of PWD's, duty organized and existing under Philippine laws with Securities and Exchange Commission Registration No. 199713065, is the only national sports association of persons with disabilities duly recognized and accredited by the Philippine Sports Commission and serves as an umbrella organization providing national coordination among all sports activities of persons with disabilities; prcd WHEREAS, PHILSPADA has been invited to join international competitions, such as Regional/World Championships and the PARALYMPICS 2000 in Sydney, Austria; WHEREAS, there is a need to raised funds for sports clinics, try-outs, training, purchase of equipment and other expenses for the said events. NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Philippine Sports Association of the Differently Abled, Inc. to conduct a fund raising campaign for a period of one (1) year, effective upon promulgation of this Proclamation.
