March 30, 2011 PROCLAMATION NO. 137 DECLARING MARCH 30, 2011 TO APRIL 1, 2011 AS A THREE-DAY NATIONWIDE CELEBRATION FOR ALL HOG FARMERS WHEREAS, the Hog subsector is one of the biggest and most consistent positive growth contributors to agricultural output; ISCHET WHEREAS, hog farmers need to be recognized for the role they play in accelerating the development of the livestock industry as well as their important contribution to the government's effort towards food sufficiency; WHEREAS, there is an imperative need to rechannel the hog farmers' energies toward excellence in animal production and vigilance in animal health in order to produce good quality animals, meat, and meat products for the Filipino consumers; WHEREAS, the Pork Producers Federation of the Philippines, Inc. (PROPORK) and the National Federation of Hog Farmers, Inc. (NFHFI) are scheduled to hold their respective annual conventions and trade exhibits to enlist the support of all their respective members in the administration's food security program. NOW, THEREFORE, I, BENIGNO S. AQUINO III, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare March 30, 2011 to April 1, 2011 as a period of celebration for all Hog Farmers in the entire country; IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
