Declaring the Period from February 21, 2011 to February 21, 2012 as Centennial of Philippine Aviation

February 21, 2011 PROCLAMATION NO. 115 DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM FEBRUARY 21, 2011 TO FEBRUARY 21, 2012 AS CENTENNIAL OF PHILIPPINE AVIATION WHEREAS, the Aviation Society of the Philippines is a non-stock, non-profit organization formally organized in July 1, 2009 whose Vision is to bring back Aviation in the Philippines to its formal status as number one in Southeast Asia, as well as in Asia in the 60s; cTDaEH WHEREAS, the Aviation Society of the Philippines will work towards this Mission by integrating all Sectors of Aviation: Commercial, Military, General Aviation, Sports and Hobbyists and the Academe and instill a strong sense of Awareness in the History of Aviation in the Philippines; WHEREAS, there is a need to constantly meet all these sectors of Aviation, as well as its sub-sectors, organizations and associations, to discuss issues and concerns in order to find solutions that will hasten Aviation Development in forms of reforms or legislation of laws, and work together with Government Institutions and Private Enterprise; WHEREAS, the Aviation Society of the Philippines will also be a Primary Instrument in educating the citizens and raise consciousness in the youth about Aviation and its potentials; WHEREAS, the Aviation Society has just been given Certification of the Centennial of the First Fixed Wing Flight in the Philippines for February 21, 2011 by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, and that this Event in 1911 can be considered the start of Aviation in the Philippines; TIADCc NOW, THEREFORE, I, BENIGNO S. AQUINO III, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from February 21, 2011 to February 21, 2012 as "Centennial of Philippine Aviation". IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
