June 11, 1984 PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 1932 MODIFYING THE RATE OF CUSTOMSDUTIES ON CORN AND COAL AND COKE WHEREAS, excessively high tariff rates encourage inefficient domestic production; cdt WHEREAS, particularly in the case of basic commodities, and adequate level of tariff protection for domestic producers should be maintained; NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby order and decree: SECTION 1. Tariff Heading No. 10.05 of Chapter 10 and Nos. 27.01 and 27.04 of Chapter 27 of Presidential Decree No. 1464, as amended, is hereby further amended to read as follows: Duty Rate 1984 1985 "10.05.000 Maize . . . Ad. Val. 10% 10% "27.01.100 Anthracite, whether or not pulverized, but not agglomerated Ad. Val. 20% 20% "27.01.200 Other coal, whether or not pulverized, but not agglomerated Ad. Val. 20% 20% "27.01.300 Briquettes, ovoids and similar solid fuels manufactured from coal . . . Ad. Val. 20% 20% "27.04.100 Coke and semi-coke of coal, retort carbon . . . Ad. Val. 20% 20% "27.04.200 Coke and semi-coke of lignite or peat Ad. Val. 20% 20% SECTION 2. All laws, Executive Orders, Letters of Instructions, rules and regulations inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed or modified accordingly. SECTION 3. This Decree shall take effect on August 15, 1984. DONE in the City of Manila, this 11th day of June, in the year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Four.
