Marquez AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE PAYMENT OF ALL LOCAL BUSINESS, TAXES, FEES AND CHARGES WITHOUT PENALTIES OR SURCHARGES UNTIL JANUARY 30, 2014 WHEREAS, Section 167 of RA 7160 otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991 provides that all local taxes, fees and charges shall be paid within the 1st twenty (20) days of January or of each subsequent quarter as the case may be. The Sangguniang Panlungsod concerned may, for as justifiable reason or cause, extend the time for payment of such taxes, fees or charges without surcharges or penalties, but only for a period not exceeding six months; WHEREAS, the City Council of Paraaque, in accordance with Section 129 of RA 7160, has passed Ordinance No. 92-137 entitled: "Levying an Annual Business Tax within the City of Paraaque" which became effective on January 1, 1993, Section 10 of aforecited Ordinance imposes surcharges and/or penalties on unpaid taxes, fees or charges beyond January 20 of this year; WHEREAS, there is a necessity to extend the said deadline until January 30, 2014 due to the large volume of applications for business permit. NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED, AS IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Paraaque, in Session assembled that: DcITHE SECTION 1. The payment of local business taxes, fees and charges for calendar year 2014 without penalties and surcharges under Ordinance No. 92-137 as amended by Ordinance No. 04-22 (Paraaque Revenue Code) is hereby extended up to January 30, 2014. SECTION 2. For purpose of payment only managers checks, cash or cashier checks shall be accepted. Personal checks or company checks shall be disallowed. SECTION 3.
