Takagi, Jr. WHEREAS , Section 167 of Republic Act 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991, provides that the Sanggunian concerned may, for a justifiable reason or cause, extend the time of payment of such taxes, fees, or charges without penalties, surcharges and interests but only for a period not exceeding six (6) months; WHEREAS , the President of the Republic of the Philippines approved the recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, placing the National Capital Region under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine from August 4, 2020 until August 18, 2020; WHEREAS , the aforementioned circumstance will increase the economic difficulties currently being experienced by the business sector and it is paramount that the City Government of Muntinlupa will extend assistance to the private sector; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, AS IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED , by the 9th Sangguniang Panlungsod of Muntinlupa in session assembled that: SECTION 1. Coverage . All 3rd Quarter Business taxes, fees and charges due and payable to the City Government of Muntinlupa for the 3rd Quarter which is due to be paid on or before August 19, 2020 can be paid not later than September 18, 2020 without penalties, surcharge and interest. SECTION 2. Penalties, Surcharges and Interests . All business taxes due for the said period shall however be subject to the penalties and interest prescribed by Muntinlupa Revenue Code if not paid on or before September 18, 2020. SECTION 3. Repealing Clause . Any provision of Ordinances, Executive Orders, Issuances or Rules and Regulations inconsistent with the provisions of this ordinance is hereby repealed, amended or modified accordingly. SECTION 4. Effectivity . This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon approval. ENACTED , by the 9th Sangguniang Panlungsod of Muntinlupa this 5th day of August 2020 , on its 7th Special Session .
