Dioko, II WHEREAS , Section 167 of Republic Act 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991 provides that, "x x x all local taxes, fees and charges shall be paid within the first twenty (20) days of January or of each subsequent quarter, as the case may be. The Sanggunian concerned may, for a justifiable reason or cause, extend the time of payment of such taxes, fees or charges without surcharges or penalties but only for a period not exceeding six (6) months " ; WHEREAS , a letter dated January 21, 2013 from the Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) was submitted to Sangguniang Panlungsod requesting for the extension of filing/renewal of business permits without penalty up to the closing hours of January 31, 2013 ; WHEREAS , the BPLO has requested the extension of time for the filing and renewal of permits foreseeing the volume of taxpayers who have not complied with the given/mandatory period and also to accede to the requests of the taxpayers who need to complete the documentary requirements which will be the basis of the prudent and correct imposition of taxes; WHEREAS , the City Government of Muntinlupa also recognizes the increasing number of new businesses which opted to file their application for business permit on the given period; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED , by the 6th Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to extend the filing/renewal of business permits and payment of all local business taxes, fees and other charges without penalty up to the closing hours of January 31, 2013 .
