January 20, 2005 MUNTINLUPA CITY ORDINANCE NO. 027-05 AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE FILING/RENEWAL OF BUSINESS PERMITS AND THE PAYMENT OF ALL LOCAL TAXES, FEES AND OTHER CHARGES WITHOUT PENALTY UP TO THE CLOSING HOURS OF JANUARY 31, 2005 Sponsored by: Hon. Simundac WHEREAS, Section 167 of Republic Act 7160 , otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991 provides that: " . . . all local taxes, fees and charges shall be paid within the first twenty (20) days of January or of each subsequent quarter, as the case may be. The Sanggunian concerned may, for a justifiable reason or cause, extend the time of payment of such taxes, fees or charges without surcharges or penalties but only for a period not exceeding six (6) months "; WHEREAS, there is a need to give time to taxpayers to file their payments for the renewal of business licenses in the City of Muntinlupa since the Business One Stop Shop will not be opened on Saturdays and Sundays to save electrical power consumption; WHEREAS, the City Government of Muntinlupa recognizes the difficulties of several business taxpayers brought by the economic difficulties in the country; WHEREAS, the last day of renewal of business licenses on January 20 is pursuant to Section 169 of the Revenue Code; HTcADC WHEREAS, the Local Finance Committee, thru Resolution No. 08 grants the request of the City Treasurer and the BPLO Chief for an extension of filing/payment of renewal business license without penalty up to the closing hours of January 31, 2005. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session duly assembled to extend the filing/renewal of business permits and payment of all local business taxes, fees and other charges without penalty up to the closing hours of January 31, 2005.
