September 19, 2002 MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 75 RECONSTITUTING THE SAVE MOTHER EARTH COMMITTEE (SMEC) IN THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT The Save Mother Earth Committee (SMEC) created under Memorandum Order No. 29, dated August 2001, as amended by Memorandum Order No. 36, dated 13 October 2001, is hereby further reconstituted as follows: Overall Chairperson : Dir. VARGAS The Committee is hereby directed to formulate an OP-PMS Environmental Program which will be implemented on a continuing basis towards achieving a conducive and healthy environment within the Malacaang Palace Complex and its vicinities. It shall develop strategies geared towards making the Malacaang Palace Complex as a model for all agencies of government to replicate in promoting environmental protection and conservation. A Secretariat shall be constituted by the Committee which shall be headed by the Secretary-General and shall be composed of at least three (3) members. The Committee is, likewise, hereby empowered to seek assistance from other primary units and agencies of the government involved in environmental concerns in order to effectively discharge its functions.
