August 8, 1994 MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 225 EXTENDING THE OPERATION OF TASK FORCE CAMIA AND RENAMING IT AS TASK FORCE DAHLIA TO OVERSEE THE SUCCESSFUL IMPLEMENTATION OF THE EXPANDED VALUE-ADDED TAX (VAT) SYSTEM WHEREAS, Task Force Camia was earlier constituted to monitor APCET; WHEREAS, there is a need to undertake the necessary actions for the successful implementation of Republic Act No. 7716, entitled "AN ACT RESTRUCTURING THE VALUE-ADDED TAX (VAT) SYSTEM, WIDENING ITS TAX BASE AND ENHANCING ITS ADMINISTRATION, AND FOR THESE PURPOSES AMENDING AND REPEALING THE RELEVANT PROVISIONS OF THE NATIONAL INTERNAL REVENUE CODE, AS AMENDED, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES"; WHEREAS, it is imperative to support the efforts of the Department of Finance (DOF), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), and other government agencies in the successful implementation of the expanded VAT Law and to independently monitor related activities and developments relative thereto; NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law do hereby extend the operation of Task Force Camia, renaming it as Task Force Dahlia, to oversee and report on problems and issues related to the successful implementation of the expanded value-added tax (VAT) law. SECTION 1. The Task force shall be headed by the Executive Secretary, thru the Senior Deputy Executive Secretary, with the support of all concerned government agencies. SECTION 2. The Task Force thru the Command Operation Center (COC) shall continue its mandate to monitor the VAT drive in accordance with the needs of national welfare and interest. SECTION 3. It is further tasked to report and project positive actions taken by all agencies, LGUs and NGOs concerned. SECTION 4. This Memorandum Order takes effect immediately. DONE in the City of Manila, this 8th day of August, in the year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Ninety-Four.
