January 13, 2010 MARIKINA CITY ORDINANCE NO. 004-10 ORDINANCE CONDONING THE TAX ARREARS OF THE CAMILLIAN FATHERS INC. Andres, M.D. WHEREAS, the Camillus Medhaven, formerly St. Camillus Home of Charity, was established in 1992 by the Order Ministers of the Infirm (Camillians) to provide shelter and care to abandoned persons with disabilities as well as to the elderly; WHEREAS, The Camillian Fathers, Inc.,is the registered owner of the properties covered by TCT Nos. 155934, 155933, 174195, 174194, 174193, 174192, 174190, and 174191; WHEREAS, the above described property registered in the name of The Camillian Fathers, Inc. has tax arrears amounting to Three Million Two Hundred Thirteen Thousand Nine Hundred Eighty Nine Pesos and 53/100 (Php3,213,989.53) covering the period from January 1991 to the present; WHEREAS, Section 234 of the Local Government Code of 1991 provides that: "SEC. 234. Exemptions from Real Property Tax. The following are exempted from payment of the real property tax: xxx xxx xxx (b) Charitable institutions, churches, personages or convents appurtenant thereto, mosques, nonprofit or religious cemeteries and all lands, building, and improvements actually, directly, and exclusively used for religious, charitable or educational purposes; xxx xxx xxx" NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED AS IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED, by the CITY COUNCIL of MARIKINA, in session duly assembled: IESTcD SECTION 1. The City Government of Marikina hereby condones the tax arrears of The Camillian Fathers, Inc. for the properties covered by TCT Nos. 155934, 155933, 174195, 174194, 174193, 174192, 174190, and 174191. SECTION 2. The aforementioned properties, which are exempted from payment of real property taxes as per Section 234 (b) of the Local Government Code of 1991 are hereby dropped from the rolls.
