January 20, 2011 MANILA CITY ORDINANCE NO. 8227 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 12 (A), ARTICLE IV OF ORDINANCE NO. 7794 ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE ENACTING A REVENUE CODE FOR THE CITY OF MANILA" PRINCIPAL AUTHOR: Hon. Maria Sheilah H. Lacuna-Pangan, Majority Floor Leader Be it ordained by the City Council of Manila, in session, assembled, THAT: SECTION 1. Section 12 (a), Article IV of Ordinance No. 7794 is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 12. Amusement Tax. a) The City hereby imposes an amusement tax to be collected from the proprietors, lessees, or operators of theaters, cinemas, concert halls, music lounges, sing-alongs, restaurants, circuses, boxing stadia, basque pelota ("jai-alai") courts, race tracks and other places of amusement at the rate of ten percent (10%) of the gross receipts from admission fees." SECTION 2. Repealing Clause . All ordinances, rules and regulations or part thereof in conflict or inconsistent with Section 1, hereof, is hereby repealed, amended, or modified accordingly. SECTION 3. Effectivity Clause . This Ordinance shall take effect retroactively on October 1, 2009. Enacted by the City Council of Manila at its regular session today, January 20, 2011.
