Legitimate stallholders in all City Public Markets are hereby granted relief from payment of surcharges and interests on unpaid taxes, fees and/or charges levied and assessed against them as of June 30, 2003, subject to the following conditions: a. That current taxes, fees and/or charges due the City shall be paid on time; and, b. That at least 10% of the total unpaid taxes, fees and/or charges shall be paid upon signing of the compromise agreement and the balance payable in twenty-four (24) equal monthly installments. SECTION 2. That the Chairman, Market Committee, is hereby authorized to execute the requisite compromise agreement to effect the provision of Sec. 1 (b) hereof. SECTION 3. In case of failure of any legitimate stallholder to comply with Section 1 hereof or with the terms and conditions stipulated in the compromise agreement hereafter executed all unpaid taxes, fees and/or charges shall become due and payable without need of demand and shall be levied the corresponding surcharges and interests as of the date when the same became due. SECTION 4. Repealing Clause. All ordinances or parts hereof which are inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed, amended and/or modified accordingly. SECTION 5. Effectivity Clause . This Ordinance shall take effect upon its approval. DAESTI Enacted by the City Council of Manila at its regular session today, December 11, 2003.
