March 31, 1979 LETTER OF INSTRUCTIONS NO. 837 TO : The Minister of Finance The Minister of Energy The Chairman, Philippine National Oil Company Under Presidential Decree No. 1610, the tax and duty free importation of petroleum products, the supply of which becomes critical during the petroleum product supply emergency, may be directed by the President upon recommendation of the Minister of Energy. Since the emergency still subsists and the supply of fuel oil is critical, it is hereby directed that the Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC) shall import, upon prior clearance of the Bureau of Energy Utilization, fuel oil free from Customs duties and all other importation taxes and charges, such volumes of fuel oil as may be necessary to alleviate the fuel oil supply shortage in the country. aisa dc This Letter of Instructions shall take effect immediately. DONE in the City of Manila, this 31st day of March, in the year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Seventy-Nine.
