August 21, 1980 LETTER OF INSTRUCTIONS NO. 1058 AMENDING LETTER OF INSTRUCTIONS NO.980 DIRECTING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A GASOLINESERVICE STATION WITHIN THE PREMISES OF THE BATASANGPAMBANSA TO : 1. The President Philippine National Oil Company 2. The Secretary Batasang Pambansa Batasang Pambansa WHEREAS, LOI No. 980 directed the establishment and operation of a gasoline service station by the Batasang Pambansa within the premises of the Batasang Pambansa for the purpose of selling gasoline to the Assemblymen and Batasang Secretariat Officials as may be authorized by the Speaker, and servicing the government vehicles of the Batasang Pambansa, free of tax, not exceeding four hundred (400) liters each per month; cdt WHEREAS, the Philippine National Oil Company or its authorized subsidiary was authorized to supply gasoline to said service station, free of tax; WHEREAS, the Batasang Pambansa set up a revolving fund in the amount of P100,000.00 for this purpose, subject to the usual government accounting and auditing regulations; and casia WHEREAS, due to the energy crisis and the retrenchment policy of the government, it is believed that the availment of the tax-free gasoline privileges by the abovementioned parties should be discontinued at this time. NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President/Prime Minister of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize: 1. The Batasang Pambansa to continue to operate within its premises a gasoline service station for the purpose of selling gasoline at cost (without the tax-free privilege originally provided for) to the Members of the Batasang Pambansa, officials of the Batasang Secretariat as may be authorized by the Speaker, and the government vehicles of the Batasang Pambansa, not exceeding four hundred (400) liters each per month; cdt 2. The Philippine National Oil Company or its authorized subsidiary to supply gasoline to said service station at cost; 3. The Batasang Pambansa to set up a revolving fund for this purpose in the amount of P100,000.00 or such amount as may be necessary for this purpose, subject to the usual government accounting and auditing regulations. This Letter of Instructions shall take effect on August 31, 1980. DONE in the City of Manila, this 21st day of August, in the year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Eighty.
